Counterfeit Protection, Built Around Your Products

UID develops custom RFID algorithms for readers and tags to help verify your products. From luxury retail to specialty equipment, we build the hardware and software around what you make and how you protect your intellectual property.

  • Readers & Tags
  • Product Integration

The Tag and Reader, Designed Together

Your team needs a practical way to verify authenticity. We develop custom algorithms for the tag and reader as one system, with the verification method matched to the selected hardware.

  • Tag algorithms — define how the tag stores information and responds during a check.
  • Reader algorithms — build the firmware and logic that evaluate the tag's response.
  • Your records — connect the verification result to the product data and software your team uses.
Where it fits

Different Products. The Same Need for Confidence.

Start with the item you want to protect. We'll work through the tag format, materials, and where a product check belongs in your workflow.

  • Leather Goods & Fashion

Build identification into a bag, garment, or accessory, with tag placement considered alongside the product's finish and construction.

  • Watches & Jewelry

Work through compact dimensions, metal surfaces, and presentation requirements to find a practical approach for the item or its packaging.

  • Fragrance & Cosmetics

Place tags in labels, bottle caps, or packaging. Verify authenticity at manufacturing lines, receiving docks, service desks, or retail locations.

  • Collectibles & Limited Editions

Connect a tagged item to its edition and product record to support checks during sale, service, or resale.

  • Electronics & Accessories

Check that a returned device matches the item you sold, or verify an accessory before it goes into service.

  • Specialty Parts & Consumables

Design verification into the point of installation or use for replacement parts, cartridges, tools, and other branded products.

Product integration

Discreetly Built Into Your Product

A tag doesn't need to change the look of your product. We can work it into the lining, housing, or packaging and test that position with the reader.

  • Placement — find room inside the product while keeping its finish and feel in mind.
  • Materials — match the tag to metal, plastics, leather, wood, or fabric.
  • Attachment — choose a way to secure the tag that makes it difficult to remove and reuse on another item.
  • Reader fit — handheld, countertop, or embedded readers for the person or equipment doing the check.
From concept to production

A Working System Starts With Your Product

Bring us a sample and the places you need to verify it. We'll help scope the tag, reader, algorithms, and software together.

Define

  1. Understand the Application

Identify what needs protection, who will check it, and the production and retail environments it will move through.

Design

  1. Develop the System

Select the tag technology and develop the algorithms, reader hardware, and connections to your product records.

Prototype

  1. Test With Real Products

Evaluate read performance, verification behavior, and tag attachment using sample products in the intended workflow.

Integrate

  1. Prepare for Production

Work through tag programming, hardware assembly, and software integration for the people who will use the system.

Counterfeit Protection Questions

  • Do you develop custom algorithms for readers and tags?

Yes. We develop custom tag and reader algorithms around your application and the capabilities of the selected hardware. That includes how tag data is programmed, how the reader checks the response, and how the result reaches your software.

  • Can we use our existing tags or readers?

It depends on the hardware. The chip's capabilities and the reader's firmware determine which verification methods are possible. Send us the part numbers and the workflow you have in mind, and we'll help scope what can be reused and what needs a custom design.

  • Is a unique tag ID enough for authentication?

A unique ID identifies a record; it does not, by itself, establish authenticity. The reader also needs a way to check whether the tag is genuine. We'll help choose that method and a way to keep the tag with the product it belongs to.

  • Where can product checks happen?

At production, receiving, retail sale, service, or returns. We match the reader and software to the person doing the check and where the result needs to go.

  • Can one project cover several product lines?

Yes. We can scope a shared verification workflow across product families. Different materials, shapes, and packaging may still need different tag formats or reader arrangements, so we evaluate representative samples from each line.
