The Multi PIT Tag Injector is built around a swappable cartridge. Drop a loaded cartridge into the injector, and you can tag ten animals in sequence without breaking down to reload between each one — useful when you're moving through a holding tank, a trap line, or a stream survey on a tight clock. Empty cartridges let you load your own 2.1 × 12 mm tags ahead of a field day, prep a batch of spares, or keep different tag groups separated by cartridge. They're shipped empty so you control the loading workflow and any sterilization step your protocol calls for.

Which injector is this cartridge compatible with?
The UMTI-10 Multi PIT Tag Injector. The cartridge is designed for that injector's feed mechanism — single-shot injectors use a different format. If you're tagging with anything other than the UMTI-10, contact us before ordering.

Do I need to sterilize the cartridge before loading?
Cartridges ship empty and unsterilized. Sterilization is part of your tagging protocol, not the cartridge spec — most studies sterilize the cartridge along with the loaded tags using their standard method (autoclave, chemical bath, or ethylene oxide depending on the lab). Follow your IACUC or permit protocol.
