Configure RFID Key Fobs for Access Control and Operator Authentication

Keyfob L is a credential platform rather than one fixed chip. Match it to the installed readers and personalize the housing for the people or access level using it.

  • LF, HF, or Multi-Technology

Choose 125 kHz or 13.56 MHz chip technology, with multi-chip configurations available for systems that span more than one credential format.

  • Durable IP67 Housing

The sealed ABS body and non-breakable eyelet are designed for repeated daily handling and exposure.

  • Six Housing Colors

Order black, white, red, blue, green, or yellow to support branding, role identification, or visual sorting.

  • Custom Branding and Numbering

Add a 3D logo, laser-engraved sequence number, or pad-printed artwork according to the order configuration.

Common uses

RFID Credentials for Access Control and Operator Login

Select the chip technology and encoding for the access, machine, or personnel system already in place.

  • Access Control Use the keyfob as a durable credential for controlled doors, gates, rooms, and secured areas.
  • Operator Login Identify authorized personnel at machines and workstations equipped with a compatible reader.
  • Time + Attendance Associate a portable credential with employee clock-in and attendance systems.
  • Multi-System Use Combine more than one chip technology when a single credential must work across different reader populations.
  • Visual Roles Use housing color, logos, and numbering to make credentials easier to issue and manage.
  • Custom Encoding Specify whether the selected chip should arrive encoded for the target system.
Configuration

Four Decisions Define the Keyfob

AEG ID's configurator collects the physical, visual, and electronic requirements before a custom offer is prepared.

  1. Choose the Chip Technology

Match the keyfob to the installed 125 kHz or 13.56 MHz readers, or specify a multi-chip configuration.

  2. Select a Housing Color

Choose black, white, red, blue, green, or yellow for branding or role identification.

  3. Add Artwork or Numbering

Select solid artwork, a 3D logo, laser-engraved sequence numbers, or another available marking option.

  4. Confirm Encoding and Quantity

Provide the encoding requirement, order quantity, and contact details for the configured offer.

Common RFID Keyfob Questions

  • Can RFID key fobs be used for machine operator authentication?

Yes. A compatible reader can use the key fob's identifier for machine login, permissions, process authorization, or personnel tracking. The chip frequency, encoding, and reader interface must match the control system.

  • Is Keyfob L available in both low frequency and high frequency?

Yes. Keyfob L can be configured with 125 kHz or 13.56 MHz chip technologies. The exact IC and encoding must match the target reader system.

  • Can one keyfob contain more than one RFID chip?

Yes. AEG ID offers multi-technology configurations with two or more chips for credential programs that need to work across different reader systems.

  • Which colors are available?

The standard color choices are black, white, red, blue, green, and yellow. Color can support brand requirements or make roles and access levels easier to distinguish.

  • Can we add our company logo or a unique number?

Yes. Available personalization includes 3D logos, laser-engraved sequence numbers, and pad-printed artwork. Confirm the artwork method and placement during configuration.

  • Is the RFID keyfob waterproof?

Keyfob L carries an IP67 protection rating. That means the enclosure is dust-tight and protected against temporary water immersion under the standard test conditions.

  • What information can the keyfob store?

Memory and read/write capability depend on the selected chip. The keyfob can be ordered with read-only or read/write technology and can be encoded for the target credential system.
