Common Questions
-
Can I daisy-chain two cradles for eight readers?
Each cradle terminates in a single USB connection to the host computer. To run more than four AnyCage Lite readers from one workstation, you'd typically use a second cradle on a separate USB port, or a powered USB hub upstream of the cradles. Contact us if you're planning a larger bench layout — host-USB power budgeting matters once you exceed four readers.
-
Does it work with AnyCage Plus readers or URH handhelds?
The cradle is sized and wired specifically for AnyCage Lite. URH handhelds use a separate 4-port USB cradle product line. AnyCage Plus uses different connectivity — talk to us before ordering if you're mixing reader families on one bench.
-
Is power supplied by the cradle or by the host?
Power and data both run over the single USB connection to the host computer. If your host can't deliver enough USB power for four readers under load, a powered USB hub between the cradle and host is the standard fix.
