AnyCage+ provides rack-scale home cage monitoring for facilities running large cohorts or multi-cage operations. Where AnyCage Lite handles individual cages, AnyCage+ covers entire racks from a single controller, delivering continuous animal temperature data without disruption.

AnyCage+ Questions

  • How many cages can AnyCage+ monitor?

    Up to 96 cages per system. The 8-cage starter kit includes the controller, a hub, eight readers, and eight antennas; 2-, 4-, and 8-cage expansion kits add capacity.

  • Does AnyCage+ need a PC?

    No. The controller aggregates every reader on the rack and can export to a USB drive with no software. Add Data Collector for automatic PC uploads or VivoTraq for cloud dashboards and alerts.

  • What does AnyCage+ measure?

    Individual animal ID and body temperature at ±0.1 °C across 30–46 °C, continuously, for each animal in a cage of up to five. It does not measure activity; see Mouse Matrix for that.

  • Can I get alerts when an animal's temperature crosses a threshold?

    Yes, with VivoTraq. It streams data to the cloud, graphs temperature trends, and sends threshold alerts by email or phone. The controller and Data Collector options record data without alerts.

  • How do the antennas attach to the cages?

    Magnetically or with rack-specific clips, with no tools, adhesive, or rack modification. Antennas come in 2" x 5" rectangular and 3 inch round formats.

  • How does AnyCage+ support animal welfare and the 3Rs?

    It supports refinement. Undisturbed in-cage monitoring removes daily handling for temperature checks, and the continuous per-animal record documents refined care across every monitored animal for IACUC review.

  • Are the microchips included in the kit?

    No. UID UCT-2112 temperature microchips are sold separately, in boxes of 24, 198, or 990.
