Summary
This thesis examined how streptozotocin-induced hyperglycemia changes the response of male and female C57BL/6 mice to fecal-induced peritonitis and sepsis. Hyperglycemic and control mice showed similar early inflammatory and coagulation responses and no difference in 48-hour survival or sepsis severity, but protein C patterns suggested a later shift in coagulation. UID UCT-2112 temperature microchips and a URH-1HP reader supported monitoring and identification.
