This study tested higher carprofen doses for postoperative pain control in female CD1 mice. Doses of 10 and 20 mg/kg maintained proposed therapeutic plasma levels for at least twelve and twenty-four hours, but after ovariectomy carprofen mainly reduced arched posture at eight hours and the higher efficacy dose did not consistently outperform the standard regimen across behavioral measures.
