Assessment of Microchip Placement Methods in Immunocompromised Mice

Hernandez, A., et al. 2019

Poster presentation at the 70th AALAS National Meeting, 2019

Summary

This study compared physical restraint and isoflurane anesthesia for implanting identification microchips in immunocompromised NSG and NSG-SGM3 mice, with and without surgical skin preparation. Clinical and tissue changes were minimal and largely resolved within two weeks, making both restraint methods acceptable; occasional chip loss after physical restraint could be corrected after five days without complication. UID UC-2112 microchips supplied durable animal identification.
