This study reduced neuronal nitric oxide synthase expression in the ventromedial hypothalamus of female mice to test a proposed energy-balance circuit. Contrary to the original hypothesis, temperature and thermogenic protein levels did not change, but body weight and adiposity rose by about 30% over two weeks as blood glucose increased and activity fell. UID UCT-2112 temperature microchips, a URH-1HP reader, and a UBS-200L base station supported monitoring.
