Psilocybin modulates social behaviour in male and female mice in a time-dependent manner

This study followed social behavior after a single psilocybin dose in male and female C57BL/6J mice. Females showed an acute link between huddling and body temperature, greater social-novelty preference at four and twenty-four hours, then a preference for familiar mice at seven days; males showed reduced stress behavior and later familiarity preferences, with distinct dopamine responses.
