This study evaluated alphavirus-replicon RNA vaccines against lethal Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever virus challenge in mice. Nucleoprotein RNA alone prevented clinical disease, while combining nucleoprotein and glycoprotein precursor RNA strongly limited both disease and viral replication after as little as one 100-nanogram immunization, eliciting an unexpected mix of antibody and cellular responses.
