Mice lacking Rlim were lean and resistant to diet-induced obesity because they ate less and generated more brown-fat heat; suprachiasmatic GABA neurons separated these functions, with Rlim in RIP-Cre neurons governing daily thermogenic rhythms and Rlim in VIP neurons controlling feeding rhythms.
